Yup, software version 1.1, build 248 is the current revision for the 218.

I think it's only available thru HH friendly dealers, or PM me your email address and I can send a copy of Device Manager v49 to you.

Does anyone know if the 'Device Manager' in the Meridian Control app will also perform the same functionality?

I've read on the RoonLabs forum that an update on the 218 adds Bluetooth capability is this true?
Quote
The subsequent firmware upgrade will add an extra setting in the Meridian Control App. You will have the section “Works with SONOS” and you just choose the COAX input (Better choice) or the SPDIF (optical) input depending on how you connected the original Connect or Amp (16Bit) that uses the SONOS S1 App or the Gen 2 Connect and Amp (24Bit) which uses the S2 App as do the new black PORT and AMP (24Bit). This adds the Bluetooth feature of the Meridian 210 to the 218"
Or is it Bluetooth via the Sonos system via coax to the 218?

Hi,

Yes, the addition of bluetooth capability is due to the addition of the Sonos device, rather than anything being added to the 218.You might investigate adding a WiiM Pro Plus for streaming to a 218.

Sonos Port connects directly to a Meridian 218, and is controlled by the same Meridian app as the 218 (unlike a WiiM Pro).

The Sonos connects via the network or via coax to the 218 like the Wiim?
What’s the better solution sound wise?

The Meridian 218 is designed to ‘Works with Sonos’ standard, with control of Sonos integrated into the 218 app. Not so with WiiM Pro.

Does it make any difference soundwise, if it streams directly with Sonos or with a streamer via coax SPDIF?

Hi, Bruce.

I am still using the version 3.7 of the Device Manager. Will I be able to update my 218 to the lastest firmware using this version?

My actual build is 248 and it’s conflicting with Sonos.

Thanks.
