Haha, I loved the Lintons, I even considered a pair of the rereleased ones, warm fluffy and a taste of nostalgia. I do fear that the reality might be one of rose tinted spectacles.

I said in December last year when Boris kicked back against further restrictions, against going after farmers in the UK and going against more WEF/UN nonsense, that he would be out and Sunak would be put in place.
Obviously the voters didn't see that happen, but I still think they are doing whatever they can to get him in power.
Getting Hunt back in is obviously coming from above and nothing to do with Truss.

My betting is Sunak will be in a major role of the cabinet with huge influence in the UKs direction, many even be PM, by Xmas.

Hunt is an absolute disaster for Britain, he wanted to lockdown harder, mandate vaccines for all and he would have happily crippled the UK last year for the great WEF agenda.

Truss will be forced to resign within days or weeks and I dread to think he our government will become.

I think it is time to stop pretending we are a democracy anymore, they may as well just put whoever they want in power.

Democracy is finished, not just here, but pretty much globally I think.

Hunt has just said no protection from energy prices in the UK from April.

Well to be honest that is probably my business of 23 years gone, I was live with lots of other retailers on a chat when the announcement was made. Many are saying the same.

UK households will see a 4x increase on energy, which is already at 3x compared to last summer, so in real terms we will see 10-12x increase compared to spring 2021.


Not really sure how that is helping the most needy? Especially when you see he has reduced the income tax reduction for the lowest earners and has repealed the easing of IR35 rules for the self-employed too.

All in all, pretty much as expected from him, looking after the Blackrocks and Central Banks while the Blackrock funded media tells the little people how much better this is for them.

I don't know why the other thread has gone; there was no announcement or explanation that I saw. From my perspective it was all perfectly civilised & respectful.

I think the problem is, when one starts to question whether the US and UK are always doing things for the best interests of the world, or maybe it is for the best interests of ourselves, many start to get very defensive and offended.
It is a shame as it is a good conversation, one that is being had by more and more people every day, and I am sure will become more mainstream over the next few months.

Anyway, Hunt steps in and cripples those who are most at risk, and puts incredible pressure on smaller businesses.

The energy cap alone will finish off 100,000s of UK businesses and probably see many unable to afford their mortgage, and let's see if it actually brings interest rates down. Which after all is the main reason for many screaming for them to do something.

The reality is though, those higher mortgage rates would not have been anywhere near as high as the energy prices we will see going forward for most people.

Many houses are going to see £8-12k energy bills with no cap at all. How is that helping the people? It is helping the banks and large funds.

If I were Truss I would play them at their own game and call a general election.
All those backbenchers crying out for her to go will have a shock.

Right now I don't care if Labour get in, a message needs to be sent that you can't simply oust someone who is not playing the big game you want played.

I agree it is a good conversation, but be carful not to drift into political statements as that's not allowed on this site.
However, I fully appreciate that it's the government that sets the policies and thus the two are intertwined.

Thanks for letting us talk about it all though. I get when you run a forum it must be tricky with what is and isn't being said.

I wouldn't be surprised if we now see the EU throwing their arms open to us to Rejoin.
You know, because we have such turmoil in the UK it might be better for us to go back to being in the EU again.

I think us leaving was a massive spanner in the works for the UN/WEF agenda, because the EU as a whole was pretty much signed up to everything, and us leaving meant it was not just the EU to make a decision but now the EU and the UK, and historically we have been the naughty kid in class over the years. haha

But I bet we see a real push over the next few weeks for Rejoin.

It wasn't there when I looked; the most recent Off Topic posting was one from the Audiophile Day thread on Oct 3rd. The merged thread may well have been there but it didn't occur to me to go looking for it. Anyway, it's still there which is good to see.

Thanks for feedback guys, maybe there was glitch on the forum it does happen from time to time.

From my moderator PoV, this topic is fine (I was the mod that split it out to here) and as stated by your goodself "is all perfectly civilised & respectful" ... which is just how healthy debate should be.
