It's possible as far as I know to use with non-Meridian equipment.

However, the remote control wont work, for example you have to push the buttons manually to switch trough the HDMI input's (see FAQ on last page.)

I think it's also best to disable AAC, AC3 and DTS bitstream, depending on your DAC of course.
