Hi All,

I have just acquired a nice pair of DSP5000 96/24 to add to my set up but they came with some damaged cables. The 5M 5 pin connector is missing and from memory the pins are wired differently depending on if it’s to connect to master or slave. I have loads of unused short Comms cables that sit between components, can I use one of these connectors and re-connect to the damaged 5M cable?

I have a 568.2 currently connected to 3 M33’s using the green VDH/Meridian 75ohm digital cable. Is it a simple case of leaving the centre connected as is and adding the DSP5000 using the 5M and 5S cables?

I can’t get cables from front to rear so won’t be using the spare M33’s for rear duties but as they are mint I will save for future use.

From reading the DSP5000 manual I am planning on setting to Type 6 - Meridian digital theatre, is this the correct type?

Thanks in advance,
Brian

The 5M cable has two different DIN plugs, one x 240 degree that fits in the 568.2, and a 180 degree that fits in the first speaker (normally master).

Here is a PDF of the pin-outs for the different cables; the C5, M5, and S5.
