I didn't take offence or feel insulted at the previous comment, I was pointing out it was off topic and a discussion that has been debated many times previously.
I do, however, feel you are trying to be offensive.
Prior comment was not directed at you (though the way it was written it may seem like it was). I don't think that anything posted by anyone so far was off topic.
Cabling and room treatment do both relate to the main topic as they are all things to consider in terms of the OP. Even 8ks in an acoustically terrible room will not do their best. And a shoddy, corroded interconnect will make even a great source have issues. This is a space for opinions. And the topic is about opinions. Do you spend 80% on speakers, and the rest on sources? Or 80% on sources and the rest on speakers? But what about the room? Most rooms are awful and for very little cost one can improve the room *before* or during speaker upgrades and have a room that makes great speakers shine and crap speakers sound okay. etc etc.
