I am a bit old skool
and prefer to physically treat the room where possible, and then use digital room correction (which is very good) to do the rest. As i.m.o. it makes the sound a somewhat less dependant on position of the objects in the room.
I have found digital correction to be very, maybe too (but not that sure, as too many variable's) dependant on listening position. Where as with physical treatment is mostly speaker position dependant, or so I have found. Although lower bass treatment is very hard to do, so it really benefits from DSP treatments. - although I'm still learning.
