It offers Windows or Mac which Apple iPad pro doesn't have?

I’ve been following this thread and just downloaded Amarra Play onto my iPad Pro (216 model). I’m streaming OK from my Tidal account but you need to set the app to passthru MQA to the Explorer2. Explorer 2 is connected via the Apple USB adapter for power. Listening to Texas and have a blue light.

As mentioned, Tidal access and MQA are in app purchases.

This thread is making no sense to me.

It jumps from an iPad to an Oppo android device(Im guessing) and from an explorer to a prime.

I have no idea what the actual end game is.

To be clear, the explorer 2 works with an iPad or iPhone if you use

with external power connected since the USB internal to the iPad/iPhone doesnt have enough current on its own to power the explorer.

I dont have a prime so cannot comment. I also have no android, if thats what an Oppo A53 is, so again cannot comment.

Perhaps if you explained what you are trying to achieve, more targeted advice would be forthcoming. For example what version of iPad are you using etc etc

Yes have jumped about a bit and should have identified that as l do not have an Explorer as such but have the Prime to try out? Put it down to an age thing!

Appreciate your advice re the Apple Camera Adapter.

l do have the QGeeM adapter l use with Apple Pro iPad which works with SD card Headphone etc. If l connect it to USB power connector one white light does come up on Prime but no sound. It could well be not man enough but would have expected at least low fi as obviously the Prime is partly responding with one light ie 1x

l have registered with Amarra ok but when l go to download l am being offered either Mac 5 or windows neither of which l seem to have or can have on Apple iPad pro 2019??

Hi,

I’ve downloaded Amarra from the iOS app store on the iPad. It’s free but you have to pay (in app purchase) to access Tidal and to play MQA. Unfortunately I can’t access Roon at the moment as I’m waiting on a new power supply for my MC200 Roon core, so I can’t comment on that. However, I can now play MQA material from Tidal on my Explorer2 when attached to my iPad using the camera/USB adapter.

I’m not familiar with any QGeeM products but I suspect you should stick with an Apple adapter.

It sounds as if you’re on the Amarra web site for downloading to a computer, rather than the Amarra app on the iOS App store.

Make sure you get the one linked above. There is a cheaper one that doesnt have the connector to add external power!

If it doesnt work (although Im fairly certain it will), Im pretty sure Apple will allow you to return for a full refund.

Hi Colin,

Make sure you’re playing a Master track and that the Tidal output is set to Master.
As Greg suggests, best to stick with the Apple product as well.

l have reconnected the QGeeM and then spotted on Amara MQA passthrough! and the green light came on, the only negative is it is dropping in and out as l type!
