Hi

I am considering trying the Explorer 2 with an Apple iPad Pro and listening to MQA etc.
l am all ok re Roon etc. via laptop and Meridian headphone amp but would also like to be able to listen elsewhere in the house.
l use the iPad to run Roon but would like any info and requirements for an Explorer 2 and iPad

You need the Apple camera kit and a supply of power, but it works great…

The iPad USB cannot provide enough power for the Explorer. The camera kit provides the USB connectivity AND a lightning connector so you can supply extra power to drive the Explorer.

It makes the Explorer a less useable portable solution on the go.

In the car, I use a car lighter iPhone charger and it works great. It means I can use the iPhone on long journeys with Satnav and hear the journey instructions, whilst playing a podcast and charging the phone.

Hi again,

l have been using my Prime to lap top with full MQA.

However, the laptop is heavy and slow to set up so considering a better set up?

l have just taken receipt of an Oppo A53 mobile and eventually loaded my Tidal membership onto same.
l have tried connecting it to The Prime but no success, all l can get is sound from the mobile or its headphone!

Any ideas please?

l have connected the Oppo. A53 to the Prime via mini jacks and get sound but not MQA.

l have a QGeeM USBC hub which l would like to think does the same job as the camera kit?

It allows me to connect my iPad to Meridian Prime, but, not MQA because of limitations of the iPad.

When l connect the A53 to the QGeeM and Prime and also further connect to a charger via USBC the single white light you mention does come on but no sound!

What music software are you using on the iPad to serve to the Explorer?

This will determine whether the MQA signal is preserved.

l have loaded Tidal onto my new Oppo A53 mobile and have access to its contents but can only hear same via its own speaker or via the mini jack headphone.

When l connect the 53 via its usbc connector to the Meridian Prime no sound or response to the 1x etc

l am using a QGeeM and if l connect that to its power connection 1 white light comes on on the Prime but no sound even at lowest audio setting

The QGeem works well on other applications including SD card on apple iPad.

My understanding is the Apple iPad cannot be used in this type of application?

Try Amarra Play on your iPad.

The software is free, but you’ll need to pay to enable MQA.
