Turned on my G68 tonight and… nothing… well, the blue led behind the buttons flashed for a second then died. Tried a different power cable, tried unplugging etc. Just a teasing second of blue… searched but could not find any similar issues… but could have missed something.
It’s connected to DSP5000s and DSP33s. Fed from a UHD722.
Any ideas for things to try?

Have a read here: G68 Power supplies: G68 Power supply failures - Please reportIf you search around, you will see some other threads as well. A likely candidate is that the power supply has failed.

Suggest you do not turn on and off, sounds like a classic PSU failure to me. You can do additional damage, some of which is either very expensive or irreparable.
I can recommend that you contact Steve (swpnt) and organise new PSU and recap. Well worth the money.

Yes, almost certainly the PSU. As per above, either MrTechGuy (as you are in Suffolk) or swpnt will sort you out.

Fantastic, thanks for all the pointers everyone... I could hear the fan still going, even though there was no front lights, which is why I didn't think PSU. I assume there's enough power coming from the PSU to feed that but insufficient for the main boards? Anyway, permanently off now... I'll call the experts in the morning... I'm fairly handy, so could easily swap the PSU if that's the main culprit. Not so sure I'd want to tackle the capacitors. Just read TN32... not sure I really want to do that... Cheers.

Hi,
Whilst it's fairly easy to change the PSU, that will only be a temporary fix unless the capacitors on the backplane are changed. They will probably be bulging by now and have very low ESR, causing extra load on the PSU.
Feel free to drop me a PM or contact MrTechGuy (as he's closer to you) and you can get the unit sorted out.
PSU's are fairly cheap (around £50) but changing the capacitors requires stripping the unit right down to get the backplane out - certainly not something for the feint hearted!
