I think you’ll find the soundstage will sharpen even further with the spikes installed smile

Are Gaia 1 or Gaia Titan still recommended for DSP8000SE’s?
Gaia 1 for DSP7200SE I presume?
Gaia 2 for DSP5200SE?

What about the added height? Getting knocked over? Bass less intense?

I previously had Townshend on a previous generation speaker but sold them as they were not sized for DSP8k.

Alternatives?

Iso Acoustics recommended the Gaia 1 for the 8ks when I asked. They are at the top of the weight range but then Titans are a bit over the top of the 8k weight. Either has worked well with 8ks.

I was surprised by the improvement the GAIA’s made, they get a definite recommendation from me

I keep looking at these for my 7200SEs but the price puts me off given that the spikes are extra and they only come in sets of 4. Maybe if I could get away with the IIs the price would be tolerable but the Is at pretty much twice the price is a little too far. Especially if I upgrade my centre to a 7200 in which case I need to buy 12 of them when I only will need 9!

They are available in single feet now. So a set of four plus 2 singles will have you all set.

When I had 7200's, I used Gaia 1's with Carpet Discs and they worked well. When I moved to 8000's, I used them with Gaia 1's for a few months, but then moved the Gaias to my Subs (which also worked well) and changed to Titan Theis with matching Carpet Discs for the 8000's. To my ears, they sound marginally better. The Titans do increase the height a bit more but I feel that they look better on the 8000's and they offer better stability.

I forgot to answer your question about the additional height. I know one member 3D printed his own supports to sit under the two stabilisers each speaker has. I had a wood shop cut me a set of four circular discs about 2.5cm tall (I forget the height exactly, but could probably find the order).

-But duh! Now that I look, IsoAcoustics says that speakers weighing more than 63 lb. should use their more expensive Gaia II (DSP5200SE are 77 lb.)

I will be sending them back.

I think you also need to allow for the fact that the DSP's use three supporting feet rather than four, so the weight that needs to be supported by each foot is 33% higher.

-Not the entry level 5200s, which have 4 feet. Please remember that you were the one who made that initial recommendation at $400.

Some us us are obviously enjoying the good life in the stratosphere…

Sorry, I hadn't realised the DSP5200's had four feet. I'm glad you're enjoying the GAIA's, I still consider them one of the best things I've done for my system smile
