I see a 4A fuse in the 8000SE fuse holder. Not sure if that was the original or a replacement. Would anyone be able to confirm that the 8000SE fuse is a 4A slow blow? Or otherwise?

Thanks

Hi

It’s a FUSE T4A 20mm SAND FILLED CERAMIC I believe. As per the Meridian parts list.

Thank you for the link.

In case the original fuse is difficult to get, the question remains whether it is instant or slow blow.

Edit: It appears the T prefix indicates slow blow.

That is correct the "T" is for Timed, it's so it does not pop whilst powering up due to the initial surge current demand.

That is interesting.

When I had my (pre-owned) DSP8000s installed one speaker popped the fuse in the mains plug when it was switched on. Turned out the fuse in the plug was under-rated because the lead had been substituted for one from another device.
