Really interesting to see the HT evolve as an engineering project and learn about the kit list.
Have to admit to being a little green around the gills but I would need a Lottery win to realise my dream HT! The nearest (literally) I'll get is when I visit Wimbledon each year for the tennis.

Keep the piccies coming smile

Regards
Bob

Hi Chris.

Looking like an amazing build ... you say "the front 9 speakers" but you seem to have drawn out / have back boxes for 12; what are the horizontal ones to be? They don't look to be the right shape for in-wall subs I don't think.

Cinema: Meridian 271, 3 x DSP640 (behind screen), 4 x DSP320 (in-ceiling), 4 x DSP3100 (surrounds), 2 x AC12 (interface). 2 x Perlisten D12s subs, Lyngdorf MP40 processor. DT 145" 2.35 AT screen. Sony VW870 projector & S-T lens, Lumagen Radiance Pro.
Lounge: Roon, NUC, Kef LS50 Wireless + 2 x REL Gibraltar-2 subs

Thanks!

From memory there are 17 x 750's 9 front, 3 each side, 2 rear
3 x 730 for front heights
5 x 520 on the ceiling

Oh and 8 x DSW600 subs sprinkled around the room smile

We also have Meridian speakers going into various room ceilings and I think the TV room has LCR front setup as Meridian too.

I might need to add a few speakers to my signature I guess smile

Chris

Welcome to come and have a listen when you are next over in SW19!

Ah; front heights! Of course! I might have expected them to be higher up, relative to the main LCR DSPs, but that's simply my ignorance of course. What a system; congrats for being at a place in life where you can afford it.... I hope it's everything you're hoping for. 8 subs is pretty hardcore too!

Do you have a 'first light' date in mind?

Sometime in December we hope!

Quite a few moving parts with all the orders.

Hopefully the seats will soon be on a boat from the states bound for the UK!

This has definitely been a journey for me. I first remember being blown away at age 17 watching a laserdisc of The Abyss at the local hifi shop - that was the moment I became completely hooked!

I did have a Meridian system with a projector when I was 30 but a house move and 3 kids put paid to that.

Fun fact - you still can’t get The Abyss on Bluray smile so I recently bought the original laserdisc to watch again - must say I really enjoyed it. Even used a Meridian converter for the AC3 sound signal!

That is a fun fact.

More detail.

At least Cameron isn’t doing a Lucas and actively preventing it ever happening.

Having fairly recently had a room built here with 3 Meridian in-walls behind the screen with false walls constructed, I can only imagine the amount of work taken to get your room through to completion....

Cinema: Meridian 271, 3 x DSP640 (behind screen), 4 x DSP320 (in-ceiling), 4 x DSP3100 (surrounds), 2 x AC12 (interface). 2 x Perlisten D12s subs, Lyngdorf MP40 processor. DT 145" 2.35 AT screen. Sony VW870 projector & S-T lens, Lumagen Radiance Pro.

Believe it or not it will have taken ~5 years from buying the house to moving in.

We have a wonderful planning department in Wimbledon!
