So if the new SSD has to be installed in the NUC for ROCK to format it, it can't be used as an external SSD for the methods above, can it? Sorry, not getting that part...

Is it more like I have to -

- Back up the music files from the internal storage drive to a HDD attached to a local PC/Mac
- Stop Roon watching the current internal storage disk
- Install the new SSD in the NUC and let ROCK format it
- Restore/copy back over the data from the external HDD attached to PC/Mac onto the new internal SSD

Or am I just being dense?
