Hi,
Last week I watched a movie and had no issue turning on my whole installation, but yesterday, my HD621 was sending nothing to my G68 and nothing to my JVC projector. No change done on my installation.
I have tested with my BR player (the HD621 receives both sound and video) and also with my UHD player (it sends only the sound to the HD621, the video is directly sent to the projector).
I have turned off and on the HD621. No change. Same with G68 and finally turned off and everything.
Still no sound and no image.
I have unplugged the HDMI cable and the coax digital cables with no more result.
I have tested with my CD-player linked directly to my G68. No problem; the sound is there.
Any Idea ?
Serge.

Perhaps you can try resetting (typing) your HD621, and see if that helps. Make a config backup first, I would advise to not loose your settings.
Have you also tried with another HDMI cable perhaps?

Yes good idea; I can try to reset the HD621. For the HDMI cable, 2 broken HDMI cables at the same time... Mmh.. really bad luck But I can try. Thanks, Serge.

Yes, 2 broken HDMI cables seems also very unlikely, but you can always try another one.. :P Anyway, try a reset first, and make a config back-up first

New tests and ... One 10 meters HDMI cable not working (the one from the UDH player to the HD621for the sound) One digital coaxial output not working on the blu-ray player. Set in bitstream mode(no probem with my HD-DVD player using the same cable and same G68 input) It was supposed to be the alternative solution if the HD621 issue was not solved. One HD621 that no longer output the video signal. Sound is ok. What a wonderful day...

Check the voltage on the power supply. As with other M items this can drift out of spec with age.

Interesting thought Bruce.
I have read this so many times in the past.
Surely by this time Meridian should have found a solution to this annoying, inherent PS issue. However as you say it just drifts on down with age.

I have seen some strange behavior on HD621's that tweaking the voltage pot solved the issue.

This is a disappointing read.
Is this another case, similar to the 218, of M skimping on the PSU.
I’ve noticed recently the brightness and colour saturation on my TV has diminished. Is this an indication of PSU voltage drift?
I inserted the HD621 in the chain in the expectation that it would tidy up, if not improve, the sound and vision signals.
Has there been any experimentation of utilising an external LPSU as per the 218 thread?
Is the same PSU used in the UHD722?

I dont know why you would expect the HD621 to improve the picture. Its job is to switch between 6 HDMI i/p's and strip the Audio signal for external processing.
The first step if you suspect the HD621 to be affecting the quality of the picture is to bypass it temporarily and assess. If the HD621 is fine, the second thing to check is the HDMI cables.
Like any electronics component, with age things can go wrong/fail. The good news, is that Meridian has a service department, and there are also independents that can service equipment. Of course, this will cost you money and inconvenience having to ship your unit. Hence people here trying to help. If you are confident doing it, checking the PSU output is another thing to check.
Cheers Greg

I dont know why you would expect the HD621 to improve the picture. Depends on whether or not the HD621 contains the HDMI signal regeneration technology used in the HDMAX 121 extender and 421 switch. Given that the HD621 performs a non-trivial operation on the HDMI stream (extracting the audio and NOT outputting the audio on the HDMI output by default), it would seem likely, at the very least, that the HDMI stream is subject to buffering/de-jittering.
