Sorry if I've missed any threads on this but I am not able to get the Sooloos metadata to work for CD imports. It shows it contacting the service but takes about 5 mins then just times out and opens a blank import window with no info.

Anyone else having this issue?

Any ideas (other than switch to Roon)?

smile

Thanks,

I had received a message about that on Friday. It is being looked into.

Hi,

Yes I’ve had a similar issue, although it did seem to pick up most of the info after the 5 min.
Thanks to Bruce and hope some support is still available.

Sooloos is dead and gone.
Roon is one option, including metadata that by far, exceeded my expectations during the inevitable Sooloos decline.

Stay safe Hector

I had understood that M had disconnected the servers permanently - so its game over for C15. I was tidying up and tried to load a number of CDs last week - no metadata available at all.
I think its all dead now.

I just acquired an Innuos Zen 3 mini which all of sudden is getting more use than I had anticipated ... its also Roon enabled and in my network connects to 218. I am now planning to use that and my QNAP as cores using Roon.

A couple of posts suggested I might have got it wrong and the Sooloos servers are coming back up ??? Really would be nice but not holding my breath.

Merry Christmas and stay safe

I encountered a similar problem which was overcome by ripping a CD using dBpoweramp and then importing the folder into Sooloos.
Initially Sooloos tried to find the metadata and when it could not I simply accepted the transfer which at least includes basic info from the dBpoweramp tagging.

Yeah, I'm using dBpoweramp and trying to import the FLACs, NOT ripping the CDs with Control:Mac.

Trouble is, while Sooloos is trying to contact the database, the process hangs for about 5 minutes.

This is REALLY painful.

I thought they had disabled the lookups. I'm sure it didn't used to hang.

Cheers

On dBpoweramp, do you use the uncompressed encoding for the FLAC conversion or one of the lower levels (1-8)?

This worked for me and the Sooloos lookup did bring all metadata over from folder.

Not a bad workaround if indeed the Sooloos library service is done.

Thanks,

James
