I just wanted to say I finally have my second hand MC200 running having purchased one secondhand on eBay. I have it working with the iPad app and it’s a digital source into a 568 signal processor and then on to my amazing D6000 speakers. It’s replacing my beloved 500 CD transport which has started to play up. I realise you all probably made the change from CD’s to digital 10 years ago, so this won’t be news.
I have to say I read a lot of people saying an MC200 is a poor choice and to be honest I had my doubts. However, having got it all set up I would not part with it. I don’t care I can’t get Tidal or Rhapsody. I can always stream content like that to my Apple TV and with the 568 it still sounds great!
Lots of learning along the way for me...
Use dBpoweramp to rip and def not ControlPC ! I had to configure the MC to deliver digital not analogue! It took a long time to clean out the previous owners music Control:PC needs a good network to operate! It’s not as complicated when you know how!
I am a total Meridian nut - had a load of Krell gear running into some Wilson Watt Puppy’s before and would never go back to an analogue set up.

Have to say I recently got a MC200 and Control:15 pair and am loving it. I re-ripped most of my collection in a few days, and while a few disks needed to be manually updated, most were discovered and the metadata accurate. As I don't use much in the way of streaming services it seems perfectly adequate for me as it is.

I had a 500T years ago, was a really solid CD Transport - loved the way it ejected the entire mechanism to receive a CD. Mine was running through a 563 DAC at the time. It was an analogue system (501/555) which was the real weak point and I stepped away from Meridian for a bit.
Interested to read your comment on dBpoweramp - is this much better than Control:PC (which can be fickle)? - Control:PC obviously imports directly onto the MC200 HDD/SDD. With dBpoweramp do you rip to a location on a PC/NAS and then use the Import Files option on the MC200? Does this provide any advantages? Just reading about the Metadata issues for Sooloos at the current time and investigating options.

I went with dBpoweramp based on the recommendations here. I needed a way to convert apple lossless files to FLAC to use in my car.
Nowadays, I use it to rip the occasional CD to FLAC files which I import into Sooloos on an MC600. It is a great program and easy to use. It also seems to do a better job of pulling album art than Sooloos (even when Sooloos was supported).
