Well, been back up and running for a month now, which is great (mostly):

Playback -fine
Ripping - fine
Streaming - fine
Backup - fine
Export - not available - screen message: "Export features are not available because Sooloos helper processes are not running or are unable to connect to the system core"

Any ideas what's happening here and how to resolve?
