The 861v2 I had was much like that. Space as far as the eye could see, almost. I wonder how much that is true for the current stuff as well especially if you ignore the LPSU side of things. My old HD621 and 271s are certainly very light and the size of the 218/210 makes me wonder if it isn't technology that has enabled them to be that small but if things were always that small but with bigger cases.

Not that it is particularly important I suppose in the grand scheme of things as it is the sound that matters. Could be interesting to see what a 210 with a LSPU in a MS600 type case would sound like cost wise though.

Hello 210/218 users

I also replaced the power supply in the 218 with an external one,
(Farad Super 3)
the sound experience I have now is incredible.
A much nicer soundstage.
Read brighter and tighter sound.
I heartily recommend this to any 210/218 user.

The power module that comes as standard is the most minimal thing there is, € 1. I think purchasing, but it works and Meridian also has to keep an eye on their margin .....

^ interesting... have you tried it on a 210?

Is much modification needed to a 210, and is it reversible?

Yes, it can. But best performance probably with a single one. I have shared one over a 218 and a switch. I thought it sounded better when it was just on the 218, but the difference was marginal and it could have been in my head. Nice to see someone else has done this upgrade too! It is a cheap way to transform the performance of a 218.

It seems to me that both devices are the same.
So, yes.

Is that the Meridian official LPSU?
What did you pay for it?

As you can read above the brand is Farad.
If you look on their site see the price including the price of the cables.

I meant the one Albert responded with, which I quoted in my response, used in the HD621.

This could be really interesting- using one of these Farad external units for the HD621.
