Pretty sure if you are using a USB to 232 adapter you still need to choose RS-232. Choosing USB would mean the connections on the pc and G68 ADV are connected with a USB A to B cable.
Didn't see that I should/could choose USB or RS-232 anywhere, maybe that's the error if that's what one should do...
