Hi
Thank you for your reply. As things stand at this time 2 Switches seems to be the the best answer for the occasional 192 that comes along.
Regards
Colin

SpeakerLink also works in series, use the OUT port on the first speaker and connect to your second speaker.

Hello All
I’ve read this thread with interest and I’m now minded to have a go with MQA. Is this possible with my current setup without buying any additional hardware?
I’d like to use my PC which has a digital output to feed my 7200SEs directly with an MQA audio file. I don’t think my speakers have the most recent firmware but in theory can that work? Will I see a light on the speakers confirming they’re receiving the MQA file?
It’s just a thought…
Many thanks Ashley

With the latest 3.16 firmware if your PC is capable of outputting unmolested digital you may see it display OF original frequency when playing MQA files given the proper settings in Roon or Tidal and maybe some others. A 218, 818v3, 808v6 are needed to see the speakers display MQA.

Many thanks for responding.
My speakers only have the 3.08 firmware and my usual Meridian supplier no longer responds to emails. I've managed to update the firmware before so I can't understand why it isn't posted on the Meridian website?
In your experience would standard media players in Windows output the required digital stream? Also, instead of using my desktop PC (which is a pain to move) I could use a laptop but would need some kind of USB dongle to get the necessary output. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for.
Like I said before, I'm not ready to spend on additional Meridian hardware at this point so any further help you can give is much appreciated.
Thanks

I have an 818v3 and DSP8000SEs.
If I only want to use it for Tidal MQA, would I be better off getting a Bluesound Node 2i. I don't particularly want to have a PC on 24/7 with its fan humming away next to my 818v3.
I could run a PC from a different room on the same network, but I presume that would degrade the streaming quality.

I could run a PC from a different room on the same network, but I presume that would degrade the streaming quality. Quite the opposite. The recommended use is exactly NOT to place a PC next to your audio equipment. Put it anywhere else on your network in your home on a wired LAN connection.
