Thank you Hector. I had to Google what a DOM is (years ago it used to refer to a Dirty Old Man!). Having done that I think I will work on the basis of 'if it ain't broke don't fix it' because the MD600 now seems to be performing as it should. If a similar problem occurs again in the not too distant future I may have to consider looking at things more closely. Eventually, like you, I may also need to consider changing from my MD600 to another device. Got to keep the music flowing J.
