Won't that just be giving you either the left or the right channel alone? That may be workable for you, but if you want a full mono signal to get both channels combined, you'd need an M processor to take the stereo out put from the TV and reduce it to mono for the single DSP.

As Longitude mentioned, an MSR could be used if the speaker is set up as described.
