DSP5000s are robust, I wouldn't worry about damage in shipping shortening their lifespan. I have a pair over 25 years old at this point (18-bit) which I just re-capped. They sound great.
I'm unfamiliar with the market prices outside the US, but if you felt you got a good price, you may want to consider keeping them.
