That’s the same as I’ve already done mine is 3 tall with 2 small tables to make bottom larger to suit 559’s but the gaps aren’t big enough for anything else I’d like to future proof it.

I like the idea but doesn’t look wife friendly

A tad to rich for me I’m thinking I need 2 separate racks under 1 top but can be moved separately as weights are immense now

Over the decades, our various/matching G-Plan, Ekornes, and Nathan furniture items are Teak related.

This Nathan unit would easily house Meridian 8xx, once the centre glass shelves are easily removed.

My Nathan unit comfortably supports my 55” OLED (despite the unit description).

I also like the wood rack concept. Modulum Audio also offer built in vibration management. I have been very happy both with the look and sound.

HiFi Racks - I'm with you Colin. Very solid, good looking and last a long time. Saw them at a HiFi show in Manchester years ago and was very impressed as they can make the basic designs in many different sizes

I'm a fellow Canuck and not heard of this Quebec Canada based brand before. Must be more of a Quebec thing distribution-wise. They look a lot like a hybrid between Quadraspire and SolidSteel's latest gear rack wares. They are quite handsome.

Spending a significant sum on a rack might seem like money wasted. However, do not underestimate what reduction of vibration can do to the performance of your equipment. The purchase of an expensive rack gave me one of my best sound-quality uplifts.

I agree. Support can make a huge difference in SQ, don’t skimp here - treat it like it’s a piece of audio equipment, because it is.

In terms of type, you’re either coupling (see Russ Andrews Torlyte, above) or decoupling. If the latter, the Townshend seismic products are likely the best. You could buy a rack you like aesthetically and allow extra height for these.

You could also use their speaker platforms to kill the vibration there.

Don’t assume either method works better until you’ve tried yourself.

If I was buying a rack today I would choose Hi-Fi Racks and Quiescent Apex Component Couplers.

Racks always seem to be an afterthought for many, as mentioned it should be seen as a critical part of the whole sound scape as would be the room.
There are plenty of hifi racks that follow two basic theories 1) to isolate vibrations and resonances to each component and 2) to couple components to the rack and to dissipate and discharge vibrations and resonances into ground/floor.
In addition there are many gadgets that will offer some form of either, ie: Stillpoints, Aurios (ball bearing isolation) springs and or air cushion devices, to the coupling items like spikes and discs.
Either one can be beneficial especially for turntables and bass speakers, but all components can benefit, there is plenty of discussion of what method may best suit, but your setup and room may well dictate what works for you.
My advice is to research and see what makes sense to you and if possible experiment, my word of caution decide on one method or the other trying to use both methods counteracts what you hope to achieve and likely lead to complex issues that are near impossible to figure out.
