Hey all, proud owner of a 568 processor, 2xDSP6000, DSP5000C, 2xDSP5000.

After a few hours of manual reading and button pressing I finally achieved sound out of my speakers. I have the 5000C set as the master and the rest slaves.

My issue is, I increase the volume on the remote and the 5000C is the only one which changes volume levels. The other 4 stay at their current level. All 5 change sources when cycled through on the remote, so they are getting that information from the master. But why would the volume not be adjusting with the master???

You need a Master DSP and a Controller device. The processor is normally set to be the controller, it's the unit which responds to commands from the remote, and it tells the speakers what to do. It sounds as though you may also have the Master DSP set as controller.

If you have assembled your system from various sellers, each bit of kit is likely to be set of for it's former requirements, not yours, so a little reconfiguration may be required as you go. For Controller status, Meridian kit can be set as Con NCon or Auto. If they are all set to Auto, that makes life easier:

Put the system into standby, point the MSR at the 568 and press clear. The 568 should then display "Con" and the master DSP "N.Con" (or something like that, can't remember exactly what).

If the Master DSP was previously set to Con instead of Auto, you'll need to go back into it's config routine and set it to be Auto. Then repeat the step above.

Thanks for the reply George. I definitely think you're on to it.

Holding clear at the processor and 5000C, they both flash auto then goto controller.

I went back through on the 5000C and set it as Ncon since being set as auto it would just switch to controller. After rebooting, no sound came from any speaker.

All speakers currently set to auto, but for whatever reason, the center is going to controller and presumably fighting the 568.

Got it!!!!!

It was wiring issues.

I went from 568 to patch with comms instead of going 568 to 5000C to patch.

THIS SYSTEM IS GREAT!!!!!!!! Giant smiles today as it's the first time I've had this going after acquiring it from a family member years ago.
