Hello All, Returning to this forum after a long absence  . Have a question about a G91A with a faulty disc drive. Are replacement Meridian drives available? If not, what alternative drives would be a suitable? Make and model number would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Most of the G91's I've come across have the DSL 710A drives installed.
Replacements can be sourced but be careful to try to get one with a similar firmware version as if it is too new, it may not work correctly.
Contact Marc Koval of this parish and see if he can assist.

FWIW I have a G91A and the drive was defective - but it was only a rubber band/drive belt that was broken. I had it repaired without needing to replace the drive.
A good local hifi gear repairer may be able to diagnose and solve.
Recognise that lots of assumption in the above but hopefully of some help.

Hi, I got a dsl 710A from Ali express for about 25€ for my G98, and it’s working perfectly.
Mac -> 818v3 -> 5200SE / Mac -> Director -> 551 -> Epos K2

Afraid I don’t know of a good local repairman. In any case, with labour rates being what they are, it would be cheaper to just replace the drive.

Got mine from this seller it was sold as new but when i received the disk i had some serious about that but its working ok

Thanks Andy. Sold out now.
There are other sellers who list this drive, but feedback seems to indicate that the drives are actually used or, at best, refurbished.
Edit: I've found one,now sorted. Was looking for another one as backup.
