Hi Mr Underhill, as you and others have said I could darken the doors of Sevenoaks once we are post CV. I may on the other hand risk a purchase on line. The 210 looks like an interesting proposition for my foray into Roon and come in much cheaper than my early thoughts on buying a used dcs network bridge. I have a RPi but don't have the stamina to set one up for Roon or to use it on a day to day basis as a Roon end point.
At this point my biggest issue becomes what to use as a DAC and a preamp. I have tried several pre amps into my NAP 300 and none seem to drive it quite like my SuperUniti, the problem with the SU ultimately is its lack of refinement, hence my wish to find a neat replacement.

I generally take that view also with stuff like this (I don't want to learn code line etc.), BUT, the instructions are ridiculously straight forward and it has taken me about 5-10 mins of one-time effort to put together about 3 of them so far.
2 run on old Blackberry phone chargers (finally found a use for them !!) and 1 runs on a 5vLPS box along with a Project DAC (amazing value combo).
There is no stamina required for day-to-day use. They just run. I haven't rebooted or touched mine in probably 2 years.
Hi Spinaltap, thanks for your feedback, I am still struggling to understand why the 210 was introduced if the 218 serves the same purpose but includes a DAC and vol control for the same price?
I have an RPi with an Allo SPDIF output card in a nice metal case (not the signature version) I have used it as a streamer using volumio and I am able to access Tidal via Bubble UPNP, but this took days of pain and every one of my brain cells to manage.
I gather there is a download to allow it to work as a Roon endpoint, but as my colleague has already tried it using my RPi and wrote off my micro SD card in the process I'm not so included to try. When he had it working he said that it lacked the sound quality of his DCS Network Bridge. Not quite sure what it lacked as I wasn't there to witness.
The 218 doesn’t do Bluetooth and is Roon tested but the 210 is Roon Ready along with Bluetooth
No 18 in the Hall of fame I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best: GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone
I have a 218 because I have other audio components connected to it (as a pre-amplifier).
If you don’t subscribe to Roon, you can attach a USB hard drive containing your music library to the Meridian 210. That is, the 210 is a UPnP Server. Control is via suitable iOS/Android tablet.
