Can I raise what I think may be a lone voice for the Lavazza capsule system?

I much prefer the taste of the various Lavazza coffee types to the Nespresso equivalents, the capsules are now fully compostible which is great, and they are less expensive too. The machines are good, I've been using one for the past 3 years.

In an ideal world, I'd plump for fresh beans and a full barista type machine, but for the limited quantity I get through, a capsule system makes more sense. And to my taste, I think Lavazza is top of the tree.

Lavazza

I agree totally, I love my Lavazza capsule system, especially the consistency in taste. That was something I could never guarantee with my B2C Gaggia machine. And, of course, the combustible capsules make it a win win choice!

My favourite high street coffee is a well made Lavazza based one - doesn't matter where as long as it's well made. But I am afraid to say that, due to convenience (swmbo picks one up after weekly shop), I have grown to like the taste of Starbucks, when well made.

Always hit and miss if you are not a regular - I've been known to do a U-turn if certain baristas are on and just gone for a nice milky Nescafe Alta Rica at home.

Recently, I bought a Starbucks’ Cappucinno (Espresso Beans) at Cineworld and it was Coffee-flavoured Milk (ugh).

By comparison, the newly-opened Starbucks down the road from Cineworld produced the best Cappuccino (Espresso Beans) that I’ve enjoyed from them in a very long time.

Before buying in Starbucks, I always ask which Coffee Beans they are using. Typically, there’s a choice. Avoid their ‘Blonde’ Beans (weak). I always choose Espresso, Verona, or Sumatra for a decent Coffee.

The Starbucks Nespresso capsules are very good.

For me, currently, the best Coffee on the High Street is (ironically) from Boston Tea Party.

Fortunately all our compostable waste goes for incineration!

I have a Jura F90 and it's relatively maintenance free. Descaled twice a year. Filters are a bit pricey unless purchased in bulk

Abominable things these machines - you can't reason with them.

I own a Miele B2C machine, plus a classic Nespresso. The latter operates at 19 bar pressure (similar to a B2C machine). The Nespresso Vertuo doesn’t utilise pressure to produce its Coffee, using centrifugal force instead - alongside reading a barcode on the capsule - when producing a cup/mug of Coffee.

Besides ‘classic’ and Vertuo machines, there is also Nespresso Pro - that also operates at 19 bar pressure - but uses an entirely different capsule. Meant for offices with high volume drinks production, there’s nothing to stop the humble home-owner from buying a Nespresso Pro.

Currently, in the UK, you can get 50% off the price of a Nespresso Zenius Pro machine, by applying the voucher code - ZENIUS22BC-50 - at the online checkout.

You don’t have to order 150 capsules to get the same discount if using the above code.

Although I would buy one for myself, ‘senior management’ has informed me that I’m not permitted buy a third Coffee machine.

Another vote for the classic Nespresso machines, the coffee tastes great, you have loads of options for the types of coffee you prefer drinking and it's pretty unbeatable for simplicity. I believe some bean to cup machines are very good (I'd certainly trust a brand like Miele), but the Nespresso Vertuo didn't get great reviews, despite me being initially tempted by the additional capsules available. Our filter coffee machines have long since gone in the bin.

I’ve owned my Miele B2C machine for 5+ years. On the two occasions when its pump failed Miele posted a shipping box, arranged for it to be collected, repaired and returned within 5 working days. I would buy another Miele if necessary, without hesitation..

Previously, when my Bosch B2C Machine suffered with the same fault within 2 years, Bosch were not at all interested in repairing it. Fortunately, John Lewis refunded the full price I paid for the machine - which I then used to buy a Jura B2C machine. That failed within 2 years. John Lewis refunded the full cost of the machine - which I then used to buy my present Miele B2C machine.

My Nespresso Latissimo Pro is a useful backup resource whenever my B2C machine is out of action. I use it at weekends, and my Miele during weekdays.
