I have recently purchased a 861 v3 and have searched to no avail the actual difference the upgrade to v4 makes.
Other than room correction is there anything else it adds?
I am using Dirac so the room correction does not bother me but I am wondering if it is worthwhile upgrading if it adds other features.

Follow Duncan's Meridian Info (link at the top of the page) to the page on the 861. The v4 got upgraded DSPs which remain to this day in the V8, and a digital input card with a 150MIPS processor for upsampling and dejittering. I bet others here know more.

You can also install an ID40 card in a v4.
Thanks, Edd
