I’ve tried using the Cisco cable to identify my speakers using Windows 10 but something pops up and no comms are showing in the drop down box in the Meridian firmware software.

I’ve read on the Meridian site that you can use the Distributor 1 to perform a firmware update, although it doesn’t explain how to do this easily (which connection to use). There are many connections and inputs on the rear of this device I'm inquisitive to know how a firmware update can be achieved using this unit?.

It has the following...

- USB (lights up when receiving power)
- RS232
- SpeakerLink In (lights up when USB is receiving power)
- SpeakerLink out Master
- SpeakerLink out Slave

Anyone have an idea which of the 3 SpeakerLink connections on the D1 you use to update a DSP?

Firmware can be sent to the loudspeaker through a null-modem RS232 cable. A typical set-up would include laptop, USB-to-serial adapter, null modem (crossover) RS232 cable, Distributor, network cable, loudspeaker. Note that it is essential to use a “crossover” RS232 lead for this to work.

Is the network cable Meridian refer to a standard network cable or a SPK cable?
