I will. And I will do you one better: I will try it on my own system when I get back from work too smile

The MS200 is not listed in your signature so I thought it was a hypothetical question, let us know what Meridian say and how your test goes later today?

I don't believe MS200 is MHR capable, so following on from Bruces comments, possibly not, although maybe that is only a non SE restriction.

Presumably 210 218 are?
Anyone compared SQ generally 210 vs 218 vs 800?

Does that mean that (part) of the MQA rendering in the DSP’s can done when with either of that kind of signal flow?

1) The MQA stream gets the first unfold within the Meridian HW (218, ID41, ..., ...) and has to have MHR output (coded by that HW)?
Or
2) Tidal does the first unfold and the Meridian HW make the MHR coding.

Where and how as a non-dealer I can download the firmware for the 8k.2 speakers?
Nothing on the Homepage?

Thanks Robert

The .2 speakers doing MQA rendering only from a MHR source. Does that include the Meridian surround processors, maybe while in Direct mode?

Will be very interested to hear from those who have the opportunity to try first unfold MQA material into the DSP.2 speakers with this new firmware.

IIRC we were told that the default average DAC assumed by the Meridian/MQA rendering solution was close to that used in Meridian DSPs. So they should sound pretty close.

This is a really good product update and I hope Meridian are able to leverage it for publicity and sales. This seems like a very low-key launch.

Unfortunately all my DSPs are .1 versions frown
