My display for RBCD on the G68 fed by a 598DP reads 44K. Should it be 88K, does this mean I'm not upsampling?

The 598 does not upsample so it won't be feeding in at 88k but the G68 upsamples so it will be coming out at 88k.
Guys thanks for the feedback, I have not set it up via calibration any different so it must be the fact that it's just a better all round system.

Cheers

Can i point out the G91 is capable of upsampling two channels only. If the source is a CD, or two channel dvda/dvdv it will upsample on the main output to the max rate specified in your settings. If you specify the preamp analogue out as the Application it will automatically upsample to x4, so CD's will be upsampled from 44 to 176kHz.
In Surround mode the upsampling is disabled as the G91 is busy handling base management and speaker delays.

Hope this helps

No, surround mode needs to be selected to be able to use the DSP modes or else it is Disabled.

Well, since my previous comment I now have a G68ADV.

Upsampling is off but I am also hearing (unambiguously) more ambient sounds from my rears vs. my Yamaha A2 processor.

That the G68 is better is a given, but the difference is much more than I would have expected. Sounds wonderful.

I had a Yamaha Z9 before buying the G68 and the speed of the effects and overall imageing of sound is so much quicker than the Z9 almost scary at times, which still amazes me on films i have seen so many times before.... smile

Cheers

Hi does anybody nows where G68 uppsamples ?
it's clear that i comes out as 88K when you put in 44K but in what resolutions is DSP and MRC volume and other processing done when you do that.
I have G98 & G68. Is it any advantage in feeding the G68 an already uppsampled signal ? or is it done at the input so the result is the same.
I discussed with the dealer prior to bying the combo, if I realy needed the G91 or could settle with the G98DH. See i don't need any analog outs or radio the only reason for me to get G91 would have been uppsampling on CD's
