Apologies if this point was made already, I must have missed it, but Sooloos didn't die, Sooloos became Roon!

JamieB,
Are you using the Nucleus? Do you have the Nucleus hooked up to the 861/DSPs then use Roon to control the Bluesounds?
Is that a better solution than adding a Node to the 861/DSPs, and using the Bluesound app? (I have 14 BS, and my Meridian system is completely separate with Sooloos, but looking for Tidal solutions) I don't have a nucleus. I have a server rack in my basement and Roon runs on a virtual machine on one of them. My Oppo supports Roon, so I drive the 861 from the Oppo. Honestly a Raspberry Pi with Hifi Berry would be just as good: the 861 can easily recover from any jitter from the pi. And of course a Node would work too. (The 861 can talk directly to Roon, but it uses a different protocol and this prevents syncing the Bluesounds with the 861). However lets suppose that you use a Node to talk to the 861. Roon is still a far better experience than just the Bluesound app. It is a better experience for basic configuration: I have had a devil of a time getting the Bluesounds to coordinate (it has, in fact, been bad enough to put me off Bluesound altogether). Far easier to coordinate audio throughout the house with Roon, as needed. Then the "I want to listen to some music but not sure what I fancy", or "I fancy something like The Doors, but not The Doors", or just basic "Play this playlist", is far better on Roon.

Agreed.
I do have a Roon Nucleus+ Rev B. (plus LT subscription of course) This was a great investment and coupled with Tidal HiRes, the advent of MQA and 5200SE is perfect for me.
Almost Nirvana today, but tomorrow technologically is always another story.
