I am both lazy and nervous about tearing the speakers apart. The OEM H1054 replacement tweeters, on the other hand, come with a gasket and easily drop right into place.
Who in the U.S. will drive their Service Bench On Wheels to New Mexico? Or are there capable people somewhere near me? Denver and Phoenix are only 8 hours away. Georgia is much farther.
A bottle of Johnny Walker Blue might make it sound really good.š

Not that they're easy to find nowadays, but if you could find a decent, highly recommended local repair man, I would imagine this should be a fairly easy job. I think I'd be tempted to do this for peace of mind as much as any potential improvement.
I was reluctant myself, but now having not only taken the boards off and replaced multiple times (with everyone hereās assurances), it is a VERY easy process. Breaking the bond with the gaskets on the speaker being the biggest hurdle. Stay patient with gentle leverage and it will break free. Take photos of connections before. Take the boards somewhere locally, send them to Tarik, or to Marc Koval here in US. You will not be disappointed. Not nearly as much as when the boards fail suddenly (and perhaps catastrophically) from resistor burnout. These other tweaks IMHO will pale compared to this - If only for peace of mind against failure from resistor issues. And remember... your original post was for $400 upgrades...
I should put it out there... Bruce, do you offer such work?

OK, I've just finished with some silver solder and flux. The 5000.2s standing on Herbie's Big Dots in my living room stereo system sound good. Not sure there's much difference from the original H539 tweeter, but I can stop worrying about ferrofluid for a few years...
Old dog... I assume that tag is literal.
I recently learned that I canāt hear much past 14kHz. Before everyone dismisses me as irrelevant, there is truly not much past 14 kHz having played test tones (as well as a lifetime of critical listening). We all have a slight ringing at complete silence.
This all said... I donāt want to be the bearer of bad news, but there is a slight possibility that you have lost the highest octave. But Iām going to assume it is that your old tweeters were in great shape. Mine were even older, being the previous model, so the difference was audible even to these well worn ears.
And that the comparison was to excellent Thiel tweeters, excellent Martin Logan AMTās, and excellent Monitor Audio Ribbons...

You may be right about losing the highest octave, but can't confirm as I've never had an exam. I AM enjoying more hours and variety of music since I upgraded my speakers than I had in a while. Perhaps experienced listeners develop a greater appreciation for authentic reproduction than less dedicated or attentive folks with better hearing. In any case, I'm happily discovering new details in recordings that I thought I knew pretty well. -And experiencing more of the musicians' technique, intent and emotions.
I used to sell audio equipment for a living, and made a practice of trying many different components at home. Aside from the expense collecting ever more high end stuff, I was wasting way too much time with stellar productions of really mediocre music. I'm over that now, but still curious about how this tweak or that other box/wire/power supply etc. will sound.
Iād certainly recommend trying the GAIAās. If you buy them online or on a trial basis, you could return them if they donāt live up to your expectations. Mine are certainly staying put!
Did the GAIAs add any height to your 7200SEs when you replaced the original feet?
According to the website other sizes are available, you have to contact a dealer.
The GAIA I includes thread adaptors for sizes M8-1.25, M12-1.25 and ¼ā-20. Alternative thread size adaptors are available upon request through IsoAcoustics distributors.
