I attended the AV forum’s OLED shoot out where they set up a LG, Sony, Panasonic and a Toshiba set. They had covered up everything but the screen so it was ‘blind’ to all but the organisers. They did various tests with and without processing. And calibrated and non-calibrated. The Toshiba had the most votes at the end of the day, and I think the LG had the lowest votes.

The test was all about picture quality and not everyday use. I have a LG OLED and navigation through menus and settings, and the wand remote make it very easy to use. And webOS is also pretty good. I think the majority of the other units that use Android, which I’ve been less impressed with in some previous TVs.

The last test of the night was a calibrated Toshiba v a calibrated QLED. With the tests that were shown to us, the OLED was vastly superior.
