After doing some checking, it does exist and will be available through Meridian dealers. It is supposed to fix the pink screen issue and provide "faster switching in some systems". This is all I know at the moment. I should have the firmware to load and test later today.

Hi
I don't have one of these but it seems to have taken rather a long time for M to sort this problem out.

HDMI 2.x has been a difficult target for many products. Often dealing with the cheap 4k widgets such as Apple TV cause the most headaches. For a while some companies frowned upon allowing ATV4 to be put into commercial installations because they caused support nightmares.
Early on, a lot of issues were due to the use of cables that did not have the bandwidth to support the data stream. Using truly certified cables minimized things in most situations. There are a lot of variables to deal with and each system is unique. Lots of other companies have had the same problems as Meridian.
The board used in the UHD722 is also used in many other products. I was told once by another companies tech support that there are only a couple of companies in the world that are making such boards and the HDR chipsets are Sony items. Some manufacturers such as Trinnov have put out best practices guides which have been very helpful in solving or minimizing problems in difficult installations.
8k will likely have its own set of issues as it evolves.

My UHD722 is much more stable now, AppleTV still takes a little bit of time to sync up between resolutions and color depth changes which is to be expected, but it never completely locks out and just loops with black screen like before. AppleTV has been the biggest offender as every other device I've had connected, be it Bluray players or gaming consoles have never had any issues.
The biggest problem I've experienced that seems to not yet be resolved is that sometimes it's like my G65 can’t quite lock onto the audio signal and blasts me with really loud white noise for a couple of seconds before stopping and syncing up with whatever is being played on screen. The G65 display shows it's trying to figure out which signal it is and changes briefly between pro-logic and cinema modes. This only occurs when I'm using my AppleTV which is frankly so frustrating I almost gave up on using it till this firmware update.
I am currently using the stock AppleTV cable which could be purchased along side the original AppleTV 3. generation back in the day, I'll give it a few days with my Audioquest cables and see if that helps, would be such a relief if it's just a cable issue, but I remain skeptical.

Bit of a tough spot for Meridian. 4K / HDMI is one of those things that only exists to keep small players out of the market. It's Barrier to Entry in Porters Five Forces. Want to develop an HDMI device? Its $15k per year just for a license. Wan't to just buy a chipset? Fork up the $15k anyway, even though the person you buy the chipset already has. They can't send you a devkit unless you've also paid the $15k.
But the bigger issue is not the license, but the fact that you have to test it against all the vaguely accurate implementations, and testing costs way more than $15k. And so smaller players rely on large chipset manufacturers to have sorted that out for them. For Meridian, that's Lattice. Lattice makes chipsets that lots of companies use. In fact they make the whole board, and sell that to Meridian and Trinnov. So it should "just work". (I notice, though, that some companies ask $800 for an upgrade card, whereas Meridian makes you buy a whole new $3k box). But even Lattice have had a hard time keeping up with all the various shenanigans that other license holders get up to. Everyone does. I spent $200 on an HDMI audio splitter, and that would lose sync at least once per hour, when attached to my PS4 Pro.
On the other hand, it was $200. One might expect a $3000 box to behave better. I'm not buying a used 861v6 with a UHD722 because I just don't have faith that it will work with my main source of entertainment. That's a pretty sad place to be in for Meridian.
Next best hope will be an e-arc solution. But that'll need a replacement for UHD722. With e-arc, the PS4 Pro can go directly to the TV, and then the TV connects to the receiver (the UHD722 replacement), and gets the audio from the TV. eARC gives the full, original audio, rather than just 5.1 DTS as with the current ARC. No splitting, no forwarding, no 4K video data.

Doesn’t the TV do the splitting in that case?

I've been running an updated firmware for a while now. Was able to get a hold of a Beta version (which I am still on, perhaps the final release had improved things further). This does indeed improve things. I have basically zero issues with pink film. I can still have issues with my Apple TV 4k. I have constantly had issues where I get no picture at all from the Apple TV. I am using a JVC X5900 projector. I am still experiencing this issue. Have not had the time to try other cables etc to see if there is anything else at fault.

New firmware has improved things for me too. Haven’t seen a pink screen since. Noticed some weird behaviour with my Apple TV 4K where suddenly there was no more picture coming through to the TV.
