I have a bag of 8k fuses. HQ advised when I raised this with them that they had noticed an increase in fuse fails and suspected a poor quality batch. This was a few years back.
My 8k will blow a fuse say 1 in 10-20 times I do a power cycle. Especially if I am repeatedly on / off during a kit demo of some sort. Fortunately I don’t do much of that.
So, I would change the fuse, get some more and carry on.

Synergistic Research BLUE Quantum Fuse 5x20mm

A quick look finds these at a bargain $150 each.

If I need a new one every 10 or 20 power cycles I’d be pretty upset.

I’m not biting on the far fetched idea that a short length of fuse wire in an audio system could possibly affect the sound quality whether burnt in or not crazy

I really hope you’re meaning flipping the switch and not the remote power button because if I have to feed these $150 every month, we’ll I need to get back in the kiddie pool. I don’t want to hijack the thread so I’ll start looking for a maintenance thread.

Of course not suitable for unstable grids. But if you like me change 1-2 fuses per 15 years in a home theater system and resale market on them are not that bad if you decide to let them go.

I found they were worthwhile and especially on the preamp.

I've only had to change one fuse, once, in my 8ks in 16 years. A pack of eight fuses cost around £4 at a local electronics parts store. No need to worry.

If you are doing a lot of configuring (ie playing around with multiple different configurations for fun) rather than just setting up for the task at hand, you are more likely to blow a fuse by repeated fast on/off/on actions of the main power switch.

Cheers

George
