BA First class, Range Rover, sure. LG? Mass market. Nothing says "oh god we need money" than a licensing deal.

Perhaps there's a profitable space between LG boomboxes and 8000SEs. On the other hand, there is a profitable space for HNW folks, but they will want Atmos and 8K AVRs. This "all we do is make $80,000 speakers and out of date 7.1 surround systems without HDMI" doesn't seem like any area of the market being addressed.

Meanwhile I've got seven 5000s, and I'll be getting two more for upstairs along with a Raspberry-Pi for Roon. Meridian could be making money from me.

Anyway, this is all speculation. Meridian is in a tough position. I'm sure if they explained their strategy, we'd be like "oh, well that’s not a fun position to be in, but it makes sense". Or maybe they're "We just want to make 8000SEs forever". Who knows.
