Not sure where you got >800 Euros from , its clearly listed at 477 ... is where I got it from : € 816,78

Hi Ian,
I'm looking at your link and it still says 477 Euros for the X-800 (before VAT)! I wonder if it’s one of these 'regional' tricks that websites use to convert currencies based on your location and, consequently, we are each seeing something different?
It is possible ( and rumoured ) that Panasonic's next round of players could add DVD-A/SACD to their high-end offering now that Oppo have left the scene.

That could be. When I clicked on your link originally, no options came up, so I clicked on SONY to see what I reported. The only other option that shows up for me is the 1000ES for € 1.125,83!!!

I'd be interested in a high-end Panasonic, Pioneer or Sony universal disc spinner when my BDP-105 finally gives up the ghost (hopefully not for a few more years!).
We watched a bunch of movies this weekend I would have struggled (I think) to find on streaming services, and it was a joy.
