Hello,
What system is better for Home Theatre with same price and why?
DSP5500.2+DSP5500HC+DSP3100+SW1600
DSP5200.2+DSP3300+DSP3200+DSW
Room is 40m2 (430 ft2).
First system is legacy, the second - speakerlink.

I would think the question is unanswerable as what is best, is for you to decide. Also are you looking at new prices or second hand prices.
The real issue is, are you enjoying the system, do you get lost in movies?
Thoughts...

No 18 in the Hall of fame smile I have simple tastes; I am content to settle for the best:
GIK monster bass panels, rear wall. QNAP TVS 471i3. Roon into DSP5200SE via 210/ 218 zone... Explorer 2. Bluesound Pulse 2, Mini & Flex. 596v1, 518, Foxsat HD, Sony BDP, Pioneer 5090, 2 Chromecast's for LRB videos. MS200 to F80 for a Roon zone

DSP5500.2 + DSP5500HC + DSP3100 + SW1600
Or
DSP5500.2 + DSP5500HC + DSP5000 + SW1600

With such a big room you will need more output rather than better SQ, just my thought.

Purely for Home Theatre?

Given the same price, and ignoring reliability, practicality, depreciation, connectivity and other such minor issues, I would go with the DSP5500-based system every time. The slam and maximum SPL from a DSP5500HC is really impressive and I cannot imagine the DSP3300 being anywhere near it, especially in as large room as you describe.

In the spirit of Spinaltap, I would like to confirm that I am not involved in the corrupt theft of a global sport.

Both systems are about same price with G61R+HD621 (about 7-8K euro).
Here is my room rear speakers in red.

Anton, have you heard any Meridian Speakers yet?

I'd be very hesitant to spend that kind of money without actually hearing the equipment (unless you are comfortable with the possibility of buying, and reselling if they are not suitable)

Are the systems from private sellers or dealers? Can you have a demonstration of each set up before purchase?

You mention Sonus Faber, which speakers and what is the rest of your current system?

You are asking for advice on a Meridian forum, so it's a self selecting group and you will get biased advice... we are all here as we are already converts! If you already know that you like the Meridian house sound, then then advice here will be very useful. If you haven't heard any DSP speakers yet, make sure to do so, as they could sound very different to your Songs Faber system.

Cheers

George

In my opinion from a home theater standpoint, nothing beats a large center such as the 5500HC or 7200HC.
I have owned or been involved with many a theater where the center was pretty much an afterthought and the performance and impact suffered. As Albert said, in a room as large as yours you need impact and SPL's to have an impressive HT experience.

Mr Meridian,

I'd be very hesitant to spend that kind of money without actually hearing the equipment (unless you are
I've heard DSP5500 for 15 mins only).

Now I've got Sonus Faber Auditor M + Cremona Center M (with Emotiva monoblocks) + Rythmik F15HP + Integra 80.3 (with serious DACs upgrade).

There is no Meridian equipment in Demo rooms or stock in Moscow frown
Systems I am choosing are from private sellers, one of them in another city (1000km from me).
