I configured my new (2nd hand) Lenovo M93p Tiny, which I am planning to use as a media-centre and possible Roon server, attached direct to a small TV ... before migrating it to my main set-up connected via an HD621 to a larger Panasonic TV (both TVs are FHD 1920x1080 resolution).
When I booted it in its new location all the Windows icons had disappeared (although all the icon text was still there). Before I unplug everything and go back to the smaller TV for further testing does anyone know if the HD621 could be the problem (although I don't see how it could be)?

It sounds like your PC has decided that you are using multiple monitors, and that the HD621 is your 2nd (extended) monitor.
It has stretched out your desktop accordingly. You have to go into graphics options to set your primary monitor.
Thanks, Edd

I ended up going back to previous TV and HDMI cable to test (which again worked fine) then back to HD621 and this time I brought the HDMI cable too. And now it works fine. I can't be bothered mucking around further now that it is all working but if your windows icons ever disappear (but the icon text remains) try changing your HDMI cable.
The HDMI cable I was using with the HD621 is either faulty or perhaps (?) Not certified to an appropriate standard. Either way I think it is going in the bin!
Thanks for your replies everyone.

Update: The icons come and go. The text beneath them is always visible and always clickable to start the apps but the picture above is sometimes missing. A reboot seems to fix things.
