There is even a hint of Zydeco on the new release "Don't Leave Your Feet At Home".
My only criticism is that the recording levels on (Reference Recordings) "Professin' the Blues" are a tad low and I have to reach for the remote, but hey ho, who am I to complain about available audio pleasure

At the risk of becoming a bore, I will continue with a recommendation for lovers of brass, specifically the trumpet and flugelhorn.

Pacho Flores "Fractales". IMO a truly great recording on DG, MQA 96k.
Another graduate of the Simon Bolivar Orchestra of Venezuela exceptional musician.
Makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Oddly I found the brass sounded a little nasal (DSP33s) but the percussion and dynamics were all there - must try it on my big speakers.

It doesn't happen very often that you are hit between the eyes and ears with something new that passes through your sinuses and finds a comfortable place in your brain that is forever installed to memory and available for instant recall.
New to me Foy Vance (apologies to the cognisant who are already aware) an extraordinary singer songwriter from Bangor NI, his album "The Wild Swan" MQA 44k is IMO fantastic.
Track 3 'Coco', only 2.30 long is wonderful for fathers and daughters
Track 6 'Burden' is for all brothers.

Great stuff.

The first track is not representative of the rest of the album (and not very well recorded either) so don't stop half way through it - the rest is as good as the best acoustic Springsteen/ Van Morrison. Superb listening for old codgers like us.
