Hi,

I recently upgraded to a G68. Can anyone remind me how to gain access to the boundary settings on the DSP5500.
I remember to power on and press one of the function buttons. Not sure how this will work with the G68 remote.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated,
James

Hi James

It's the same with the MSR+ as the old MSR... hold down the Store button with the remote pointing at the speaker display whilst switching it on from the rear. It will go into standby and you can then select a source and operate as normal, the boundary settings are accessible via Fn + Left or right arrows. Once you have decided on the best setting, press Fn + Store and switch off again at the rear. I normally wait 30 seconds before powering up again as I've found it can blow fuses if you do it instantly!

Cheers

George

Hi George, hope all is good with you.

Great, and thanks for such a quick response.

What are sub 1 and 2 settings related to?

Hi James

Thanks, the sub settings are crossover frequencies, for directly attached M subs, and are 80Hz and 120Hz if memory serves.

When I had access to MRC, I changed my DSPs from Corner (they were well out from corners, but to my ears this sounded best) to Free to allow MRC to do it's stuff, assuming that was best practice. I've recently changed back to Corner, even with MRC engaged, and found that it sounds rather better. I've left the Centre DSP on Free though and that's providing the best all round sound. I just mention this as you are doubtless going to have a good play with MRC now with the G68!

Have fun!

Cheers

George

George,

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

After a number of years in storage in my attic, I've just pulled my Meridian equipment out of retirement and set it up in my bedroom with the idea to either 1) actually use this stellar equipment or 2) thoroughly kick the tires and sell of the gear for someone else to enjoy.

Having been away from Meridian for a good long while, I'd forgotten a lot of the documentation errors and subtleties on getting things to work.

I was pulling out my hair trying to figure out how to change the boundary settings on the DSP5K and DSP5KC.

I had the procedure correct, but failed to recall the need to use the Fn key in conjunction with the arrow keys. Your post saved my sanity! smile

Best Regards,
Dan W.

Well that's lovely to hear Dan, I hope you'll get to enjoy the kit now rather than selling up!

Thank you

George
