Long(ish) story.
Trying to help a fellow HH who had attempted to replace the PSU in his G68. Unfortunately he fitted the wrong PSU and also forgot to rearrange the wires on the connector.
I have now fitted the correct PSU and rearranged the wires, replaced the caps on the motherboard and the digital output card as per the tech note.
I have set the voltage to various levels with no difference in performance (5.0V, 5.05V and 5.1V)
The unit powers on, I am able to upload firmware, fetch and upload config etc and appears to be working normally. There are two issues.
1) No tones when calibrating through either the analogue or digital outputs (when appropriately configured). Also no sound when playing a source.
2) When a squeezebox digital out is plugged into D7, the unit is sluggish when changing volume. Works normally if an empty input such as DVD is selected.
Is there something obvious I am missing or did the original 'fix' cause additional damage?
I should also add that I have re-loaded the firmware which appears to have been a success and also retyped.

Noticed that the unit thinks it is a G68XXV when it is a G68J
This may be misleading as it is the name of a user type.
Ruled out. Config program sees the unit as a G68J.

Tried to reload the firmware again.
Now failing on E00011 an F84053. It is timing out with Error bn02 e7 in the display.
Tried loading them individually same result.
Using an RS232 cable known to be working and baud is set to 9600.

Maybe worth checking the connection of the EF card in the G68

Removed the card and cleaned the contacts then re-seated the card. Firmware now loaded ok, at least no errors. Repeated twice with success.
When the unit is in standby and I press display I get the following after each press:
1) Micro G68 1.5 /4409 2) +AAC/Zone2 decoderr 3) DSP C00055/D840853 4) DSP E00011/F840853 5) S/N G68 102104 6) Meridian G68 7) blank 8) blank 9) blank 10) blank 11) blank 12) blank
The blanks don't seem right?
From the up loader program clicking identify returns:
Display 025 DSPC C00055 DSPD D84053 DSPE E00011 DSPF F84053 FIFO 1.5 Micro v4409 Serial Number 102104

Might the blanks be user supplied data entered via the set up programme?
I can’t check as my G68 is at a different location.

Created a new fresh config file and loaded it ok.
Still no sound from calibration.

TN32 mentions running with the COM, FICL, CD, EF and GOEA
I have found out which the COM (middle row at the top), GOEA (digital output) and EF (sits below the analogue out card) are.
Which ones are the FICL and CD cards?

I think I have worked out which they are and have now run the unit with the minimum amount of cards as per the Tech note.
Still nothing on the digital output when calibrating.
As I don't have spare cards lying around I don't think I can go any further with this as I would need to swap out the cards one at a time to find the faulty one.

Really stupid question, but you have told the unit you have digital rather than analogue speakers, haven’t you?
