Hi James,

Firstly I apologise for the misleading information in my previous post to you. The reasons for the mistakes are explained in the above post to Ian.

As per your latest question above about whether there are dedicated outputs from the MHR coax connectors on the G98 to the dedicated inputs on the G68 MHR connectors, the answer is a definite yes.

To the left of the MHR Smart Link (VGA) connector you will see the panel labeled MAIN DIGITAL OUT with four coax sockets below. The bottom right output is labeled AUX DIGITAL OUT. As Ian mentioned previously, this output is not used in establishing the MHR connection with the G68.

The other three outputs are labeled MAIN DIGITAL L/R (top left), C/LFE (bottom left) and SURR (top right). These are the three output sockets that one end of the three blue cables will be plugged into.

Now on the G68, the two sets of coax MHR inputs are located directly below the MAINTENANCE USB and RS232 ports with the heading MULTI DIGITAL IN. Below the the second row of three coax inputs, you will also see the labeling of SURR, C/LFE and L/R from left to right. On the right, the bottom row is labeled MD2 and the top row MD1. You will use the top row MD1.

Now between the G98 and G68 you will install each of the blue coax cables between MAIN DIGITAL L/R and L/R, C/LFE to C/LFE and SURR to SURR, respectively.

You will then ensure that the MHR connection is correctly set up in the MConfig programme as shown in the G68 instruction manual. G98 to G68 connections are D1 to D1, D2 to D3 and D3 to D5. You can click yes to make a multichannel connection automatically.

I hope that this explanation gets you over the line with your problem solved.

Cheers,

Steve M
