Sure it does. A Timex and a Rolex both tell time too. Some of my cutomers replace Apple tv's frequently enough that in a ten year time they will have come pretty close to the cost of the 210. Oh dear back to the Digital v Analogue discussion again but with prices reversed. Watch this space

Some of my customers replace Apple TV's frequently enough that in a ten year time they will have come pretty close to the cost of the 210. An AppleTV truncates its audio output to 16/48: an AirPort Express doesn’t - it passes its 16/44 (toslink) signal intact. That makes the 210 way over priced for what it does, just because it has ‘Meridian’ printed on it.

Not making any judgements about the MSRP of the 210, but presumably the Meridian badge also comes with integration features such as SpeakerLink. This will enable volume control etc.

Exactly. I would also expect that it would be capable of higher resolution as well.

By deduction, isn’t the unit top left in this picture the 210? Looks similar to the 218 next to it, only without the Analog In/Out. Soundserge

The left unit might actually be another 218, with what seems to be a piece of paper masking the analogue in/out.
