Better still, a freshly brewed Coffee using whole beans costs me 10p per large cup.

However your initial investment in bean to cup machine and processing/maintenance/cleaning time should be included in any price comparison.

Agreed Home Ground is best quality, but also how long does it take to ready your machine (especially to deliver the goods) and at what energy cost.

No doubt yours goes to 11.

From start button to finish, less than a minute (including foamed Milk).

Given the amount of Coffee consumed in this household, and the equivalent cost of visiting/purchasing from Starbucks, my B2C paid for itself in 10 weeks.

I had the trifecta this morning:

Empty drip tray
Top up water
Add beans

Only trumped by a service request or running out of beans!

Cheers
Tom

I don't understand. Why are you all using machines for this?

Alessi mocha pot, beans, grinder, water, gas hob. No-one ever criticised my coffee.

No zone in the kitchen, and 'too loud' complaints if I turn up the volume just to make coffee.

Similarly, I don't understand. Why are you using expensive Meridian audio.

An iPod for music downloads. No-one has ever criticised my choice of audio device.

The point being, we all have different priorities in choosing those items that produce the greatest pleasure. smile

Yep! Glad I never grew up blush
Or I would not still be listening to Chris Farlowe and the Thunderbirds.
As good now as it was in the late 60's early 70's.

Like with MQA it’s what you put into the machine, ensuring the hot water passing through is pure(bit perfect), relying only on gravity, without further corrective processing, until rendered to a heated clean cup. From there corrupt to taste. I highly recommend Costco’s Dark Roast👍

Recently, I discovered Boston Tea Party. Ironically, besides their excellent food, they make the best Coffee that I’ve ever tasted on the High Street.

You can buy a 1kg bag of their Coffee Beans for £15. If you think that’s expensive, it works out to £3.50 per 250g - which is similar to most other brands.

Their blend is exclusive to BTP, which is roasted by Extract Coffee in Bristol.
