Using the D1 input of my 218 connected to a Control:10 digital output playing a 192k MQA file while the Control:10 is the zone, results in PCM 96k being displayed. Presumably, the same would be true for a generic CD player playing a MQA CD and outputting digitally into the 218.

Would you expect to see the blue light illuminate on the 218 in this scenario if it was receiving MQA?

The DSP8000SE was displaying PCM 96k via SpeakerLink in from the 218.

My response was directed at previous posts that were referencing whether or not the digital inputs of tbe 218 would decode MQA content. My test with the digital output of a Control:10 suggest the answer is no.

Many thanks for performing that test, if you are able to feedback to M ... if this is true then for the avoidance of doubt they should update the 218's datasheet to reflect this limitation.

I'm going to test this myself. MQA decoding via the Sooloos network interface *only* seems completely wrong. Just wondering if it's worth double-checking that the C10 output was bit-perfect (no volume normalization etc.).

Maybe the 218 will decode and forward MQA via the analogue outputs? Hope so, I've got one in the mail...

The 218 will fully decode and render MQA from its streaming endpoint to the analog outputs

I am hoping it will do the same from its digital input to its analogue out. It will do the MQA CD industry a world of good.
