In his review of the Ultra DAC in Stereophile John Atkinson mentioned a CD given to him of Evelina Vorontsova playing Rachmaninoff. He thought it was very well recorded and performed so I took a flier and ordered it from Martin Muziek in the Netherlands. At 20 Euros it wasn't cheap but it's worth every penny. I don't own a better recording of piano music and it's "only" redbook. Just goes to show what proper mics and recording engineering can get from 16/44. And it doesn't hurt that the young lady can play the piano.

Thanks VK, I will try IM. Another new female vocal album well worth a listen is Amilia K Spicer "Wow and Flutter" available on both CD and Vinyl  Maybe the CD should be titled "Wander and Jitter" Very good production however at 44/16. Highly recommended Hector

One more very new Female Vocalist for your enjoyment. A very impressive first album from Jade Jackson entitled "Gilded" just popped up on Tidal (MQA 88K). Backed by talented family members, this album should make a big impression, with much more to come in the future, I am certain. Hector
