In his review of the Ultra DAC in Stereophile John Atkinson mentioned a CD given to him of Evelina Vorontsova playing Rachmaninoff. He thought it was very well recorded and performed so I took a flier and ordered it from Martin Muziek in the Netherlands. At 20 Euros it wasn't cheap but it's worth every penny. I don't own a better recording of piano music and it's "only" redbook. Just goes to show what proper mics and recording engineering can get from 16/44. And it doesn't hurt that the young lady can play the piano.
